There is only one week left to get tickets for the Tenth Annual Orthodox Christian Chinese Missions Fundraising Dinner to be held in Hamilton, Ontario on Sunday June 11.

The event begins with an Akathist Service at 5pm at All Saints of North America church, and continues with a Chinese Dinner at 6pm at Iron Chef Chinese Restaurant. Tickets are $50 per person or $100 per family (two adults, plus children under 12). Tables of 10 can be purchased for $500.

Holy Myrrhbearers Orthodox Mission in Toronto celebrated its first anniversary and patronal feast day on Sunday 30 April, the Third Sunday of Pascha.

His Eminence Archbishop Irénée presided at the hierarchical Divine Liturgy and ordained Chris Voulgaris to the holy diaconate. Concelebrating were Holy Myrrhbearers' rector, the Very Rev Geoffrey Ready, and Deacon Nicolas Svetlovksy.

Activity books for Orthodox children are available from Lengua Viva, a publishing company established by Ioana Dimitriu, a Romanian-Canadian parishioner of the Annunciation Orthodox Cathedral in Ottawa.

These new activity books would be appropriate for use in various group settings, such as Sunday School, Vacation Bible Studies, and summer camps.

Peter & Paul Sobor, Montreal, on May 6 (the feast of the North side altar and the day of St. George), and then to the Holy Priesthood on May 8 (the day of the holy Apostle Mark) at St. Serafim of Sarov, Rawdon. Our dear sister in Christ, Mother Nila, was born Irene Lebedeff on March 9, 1927 of Russian parents in Riga, Latvia. Throughout her long and fruitful life, Mother Nila lived in Latvia, Poland, Peru and Quebec. She was married and had two children. After the death of her husband, she was tonsured a nun at the Monastery of the Protection of the Mother of God in Bussy-en-Othe, France. Returning to Quebec, she spent the past 30 years of her life in Rawdon, QC.
