On Sunday, April 3rd, 2016, His Eminence Archbishop Irénée celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the new mission in Kitchener-Waterloo dedicated to "St Mary and the Brancoveanu Martyrs".

Concelebrating with His Eminence were Fr Didel Furtuna, pastor of the Mission, and the very Rev Alexandry Ichim. Over 70 faithful of all ages assembled to celebrate together. A festal meal was served after the Liturgy.

We ask your prayers for this new mission of our Archdiocese.

The Orthodox Clergy Fellowship of Toronto celebrated pan-Orthodox Sunday of Orthodoxy Vespers at Christ the Saviour Cathedral, presided by His Eminence Archbishop Irénée.

His Beatitude, Metropolitan Tikhon has accepted an invitation from His All-Holiness, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople to concelebrate the Divine Liturgy of the Sunday of Orthodoxy at the Patriarchal Church of Saint George in Istanbul’s Phanar district on March 20, 2016. Also concelebrating with the Ecumenical Patriarch will be the members of the Sacred and Holy Synod of the Patriarchate of Constantinople.

As reported earlier, His Beatitude, Metropolitan Tikhon had accepted the invitation of His All-Holiness, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople to concelebrate at the Divine Liturgy in the Patriarchal Church of Saint George in the Phanar district here on the Sunday of Orthodoxy—March 19-20, 2016.

The service of Holy Unction was served at Sts Peter and Paul Cathedral, Montreal, on March 15.

Celebrating were Archbishop Irénée and seven priests from the Montreal area: Archpriest Anatoly Melnyk, the rector, Priest Vasily Tsaritsyn, attached priest, Priest Aleksandr Janovski, Priest Justin Mitchel (St Benoit Church), Priest Nicolay, Priest Ivan and Priest Dragosh (St Benoit Church).

The Orthodox School of Theology at Trinity College (University of Toronto) is offering a summer course on Modern Orthodox Theology in May-June 2016. The course studies Orthodox theology from the fall of Constantinople in 1453 to the present, with a focus on the period since the mid-nineteenth century, especially the Russian religious renaissance and neopatristic theology. Historical, biographical and thematic, issue-oriented approaches are used in the course, drawing on both primary and secondary sources.

On Saturday, 13 February, Deacon Justin Mitchell was ordained by His Eminence Archbishop Irénée to the Holy Priesthood at Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral in Montreal. Fr. Justin is attached to the parish of St. Benoît de Nursie in Montreal.

On Thursday and Friday, March 10 and 11, 2016, the Audit Committee of the Archdiocese of Canada (Very Rev. Rodion Luciuk, Mr. German Ovodov, Mr. Reuben Penner, Mr. Gregory Rychlo) assembled in the Archdiocesan office in Rawdon with the Chancellor, Very Rev. Anatoliy Melnyk and the Treasurer, Rev. Justin Mitchell, for the annual audit of the Archdiocese. They successfully completed their work on Saturday morning. The report will be given to the Archdiocesan Council next month.

His Eminence Archbishop Irénée celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Three Hierarchs Chapel at St. Vladimir's Seminary this past Sunday (28 February) during which he ordained Deacon Tikhon (Ryan) Bishop to the Holy Priesthood.
