From August 22-24, 2013 the Archdiocese of Canada held its triennial Assembly in Gatineau, Quebec entitled “Faithful Stewardship: Our Words, Commitments, and Actions”.

Day two began with Divine Liturgy, celebrated by Igumen Gerasim (Power), Archpriest Bohdan Hladio, Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Canada (Ecumenical Patriarchate), and other Archdiocesan clergy.

On August 21, 2013 the Archdiocese of Canada held a Clergy Synaxis in conjunction with the Archdiocesan Assembly which begins on August 22.

The Synaxis was attended by His Beatitude Tikhon, Metropolitan of all America and Canada, His Grace Bishop Irénée, Administrator of the Archdiocese of Canada, Archpriest John Jillions, Chancellor of the Orthodox Church in America, Archpriest Anatoly Melnyk, Chancellor of the Archdiocese of Canada and other visiting and Archdiocesan clergy.

On August 19, 2013 His Grace Bishop Irénée visited Holy Transfiguration Church in Star, AB for the celebration of the parish’s 100th Anniversary. His Grace was welcomed for Divine Liturgy by rector Archpriest Nikolai Nikolaev along with Igumen Gerasim (Power), Priest Daniel Friesen and Deacon Jesse Isaac. After Divine Liturgy, the Lesser Blessing of Waters was held followed by a blessing and procession around the church.

On August 17, 2013, His Grace Bishop Irénée visited Holy Transfiguration Church in North Bank, AB where he celebrated Divine Liturgy commemorating the 60th anniversary of the parish. Concelebrating with His Grace were rector Igumen Gerasim (Power), Archpriest Nikolai Nikolaev and Deacon Jesse Isaac. After the Divine Liturgy, the Lesser Blessing of Waters was performed and the church and faithful were blessed during a procession around the building. A reception and lunch was then held in honor of the 60th Anniversary of the parish.

Hundreds of parishioners of St. Seraphim of Sarov Orthodox Church in Richmond Hill, Ontario celebrated their Patronal Feast on August 4, 2013.
His Grace Irénée, Bishop of Quebec, Administrator of the Archdiocese of Canada brought the relics (netlennye moshchi) and belt of Saint John (Maximovitch) of Shanghai and San Francisco for veneration and served a Hierarchical Divine Liturgy.
Concelebrating with His Grace were the Parish Rector, Priest Alexei Vassiouchkine, and Archpriest Vasyl Kolega, Rector of Christ the Saviour Russian Orthodox Cathedral in Toronto.

On Sunday, July 28, the All-Diocesan St. Vladimir’s Day Celebrations were held at St. Vladimir Memorial Church in Jackson, NJ. The celebrations were organized by the Eastern American Diocese of the Russian Church Abroad, and dedicated to the 1025th anniversary of the Baptism of Rus’ and the 75th anniversary of the church’s founding. Clergy who came to the celebrations from America, Canada, Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus greeted His Eminence Hilarion, Metropolitan of Eastern America & New York, First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad.
