On Sunday, August 26, His Eminence Archbishop Irénée celebrated the Divine Liturgy at Holy Trinity Orthodox Church in Québec City. Concelebrating with the archbishop were Fr Nectaire Féménias, Fr Nicolas Svetlovsky and Fr Nicholas Young.

Un groupe petit mais engagé de membres du clergé et de laïcs dirigés par Mgr Irénée a représenté l'archidiocèse du Canada à Saint-Louis, du 23 au 27 juillet.

The ordination of a new deacon brought joy to the monastery of all Saints of North America and the congregation of the church of the Theotokos, Joy of Canada. Mircea Markel Tihon completed his seminary training in Romania and has served as reader at the monastery for some years now.

Deacon Markel was born in Moldova, one of a set of triplets. His twin sister Galina is a member of the congregation. Deacon Markel’s wife Rodica is one of the chanters who leads the congregation in singing on Sundays.
